brotherly love | West Vancouver Family Photographer

How quickly a year can pass… baby E recently turned one and I had the honour to document all his major milestones — newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and one year old. What a treat! He is too sweet for words and so are his older brothers, so cute, with super sweet parents! These brothers are sooo well behaved (fantastic job, parents!) my sessions with them are always fun and stress free.

So for our 1 year old session I suggested to mom to give it a photo-journalistic approach, following the boys (and family) in and around the house and letting them do their thing while I clicked away — storytelling photography. I am very pleased with the end result, I just love the feel of these pictures!

The older boys absolutely adore their baby brother. I feel so blessed to watch them grow up right before my very lens… and even more for capturing this brotherly love for the family memory books. I’m the luckiest gal in the world!

oh and also capturing a father’s love…

Dad was telling me that unlike his older brothers, baby E is very attached to him. So true, very easy to see!

Mom did a terrific job at decorating the house (I love all her color choices for the walls, etc) which made my job of finding the right background so much more exciting!

I love seeing my art up on their walls, it makes me so happy!

and the image below is one of my favorites… the light, the love, the sweet moment captured…

Then we headed outside for the boys to play… they were practicing for the baseball game they would have right after our session.

It is impossible to take a bad photo of them hence I’m posting a bunch here :-)

Dad is right.. middle one definitely has the James Dean look going on…

Not so long ago, baby E was still in mummy’s tummy and we were at this beautiful cove at Lighthouse Park for mom’s maternity session. And now, a happy little one year old who is beyond cute.

As you can easily see, I had a wonderful morning with this amazing family.

Thank you R family for allowing me to document these milestones in your beautiful family over the year. I can’t wait to start working on the coffee table book, a visual narrative of a fantastic year!

father = love | Greater Vancouver Photographer

“To her the name of father was another name for love.” ~ Fanny Fern

I hope you all had a fantastic Father’s Day!

We celebrated with family & friends, and this year was extra special as it was also my kids’ Music Recital for the end of the year. So daddy got to enjoy our kids beautifully (and skillfully!) playing the recorder and singing, and they did a great job! We are so proud of them! Hubby couldn’t have asked for a better present!

I just wish I still had my dad here among us and the celebration would have been complete. Father’s Day has been bittersweet for me for the past 4 years… I was lucky enough to have had a father who loved me (and my sister) dearly, and always put his daughters first. I am grateful for that unconditional love. And I am grateful for the wonderful father my kids have. Family is where you story starts and love is the one force that holds a family together.

I have (of course!) bazillions of pictures of my father and I (have I ever told you my dad was also an amateur photographer? :-) )  but the single ones that speak volumes to me to date are the ones below, still my very favorite images from my childhood — my beloved family, where I came from:

I am very, very blessed in life.

Part II will be my kids and hubby…. but these will have to wait as I am working on another sneak peek now. :-)

chic cowgirl | North Vancouver Child Photographer

Yesterday I promised more pictures from my session with the birthday princess, so here they are… be prepared though, cuteness overload!
the little cowgirl boots and hat kill me!
Mom booked this session back in January and we’ve been planning it ever since… she wanted to get a few images of her little cowgirl to be used for the second birthday invitations, and since the theme of the party is “animal farm” we hit Maplewood Farm in North Vancouver. We had a blast!
I love her sweet little face here… she’s got THE best expressions!

I had so much fun dressing her up — mom brought a few clothing items she wanted to use for our session (she even brought an helium tank for us to to fill up the balloons!)

so many cute outfits to choose from… little fashionista she is!

and last but not least, my favorite from our afternoon together:

I warned ya, cuteness overload :-)

I have tons more to blog but these will have to wait… oh, and I can’t wait to share here the ones that made it to the *fabulous* invitations (I don’t want to ruin the surprise to the lucky party attendees :-) … the cards will be mailed out soon so stay tuned!

Pure… beauty. | Vancouver Newborn Photographer

I am so grateful for my clients who choose me to create the images that will become a part of their family’s history. It’s such an honour. This beautiful girlie traveled here all the way from Victoria for our photo session and she was such a cutie with super sweet parents. Mom first contacted me last December so I was really excited to finally meet her and her amazing family. And let me tell you, my jaw literally dropped when I met them: what a *gorgeous* family. and I mean it.

I am now finalizing their gallery and decided to share a few here. I’ll have to share more after gallery is done, too many favorites…

Many thanks A and K, and also Auntie V — your little girl is a doll!

Love,
